Sand and crush are often quoted by load or volume, so unclear descriptions can create avoidable differences between the requested and delivered material. Make the material and measurement basis explicit before confirming an order.

01

Name the material and intended use

State whether you need construction sand, stone dust, fine aggregate or crush stone. If the project specification identifies a grading or aggregate size, include it in the enquiry rather than relying on a general product name.

02

Agree the measurement basis

Ask whether the quotation is per dumper, load, cubic foot or another agreed unit. Confirm the approximate load volume, vehicle type and how the delivered quantity will be checked at site.

03

Describe site access and unloading

Provide the full delivery location and note narrow access roads, overhead restrictions, unloading hours or any requirement for a smaller vehicle. These details can affect the practical delivery quote.

04

Confirm the quote before dispatch

Record the material description, size or grading, agreed quantity, total rate, transport, delivery time and payment terms. Inspect the delivered material against the agreed description before accepting it.
